I'm pretty sure he is the Benjamin Williams who married in Howell Co MO 1875-03-11 Martha J Cloninger. That would be a little out of the way for him, but the couple below is the only Ben + Martha Williams in MO.
He apparently also had a wife before Anna, who was Thomas' mother.
