Notes:

[R14.7.1]

Note: I am not positive he was a son of Almon + Rebecca.

I am also not sure he was the father of the Eliza who died in Cannon Co TN. There were only a few Rigsby families there at the time, and all the others were either the wrong age to have a daughter in 1851, or have another child who was born then.

married both wives in Cannon Co TN
He and Sarah are buried in Rigsby cemetery, Cannon Co TN.

He was a farmer.

--
According to a note on an 1850 census entry at Ancestry.com, by Lucy he also had an illegitimate son William Higdon 1879 TN.

--
He served in the Civil War (Union), 5 TN cavalry, Co E.
He filed for a pension on 1890-07-17, and his widow Lucy filed on 1933-08-05.

wife Lucy A 43 1857-03 6/5 TN/TN/TN
dau Ida L 16 1884-03 TN
dau Hassie M 13 1887-03 TN
dau Sallie D 10 1889-10 TN

[This has to be him. There was no other John born in 1822.]
[It says they have been married 24 years, which doesn't agree with Cannon Co marriage records.
Ida and Hassie can't be daughters of John's first wife, who would have been in her 60s when they were born.
Did John have another wife between Sarah and Lucy? Or are Ida and Hassie daughters of an earlier marriage for Lucy?]
