Somewhere I read that he married Mary Ann Abbet Hudson and had children:

On the 1870 census Ephraim and son James are living with a John Russell family (probably Mariah's brother). No other children are shown. No other Ephraim Estes born MO is listed.
On the 1880 census in Howell Co MO is Ephraim T Estes with wife Mary and the above 4 children.
If this is the same Ephraim, why were the wife and daughters not with him in 1870? Could they be from a previous marriage for Mary?
On the 1870 census in Morgan Co MO is Mary A Hudson 29 MO with daughter Martha 6, but no Melissa.
I am guessing that this Ephraim had two wives, and that Martha and Melissa were really Hudson.
