They did not have a son Oscar, and anyway Rial died 12 years before Oscar was born.
Allen Co funeral records show Walter's parents as Frank Rigsby + Alice Mayhew, and that he had
a cousin Mary A Mayhew.
Alice is Alice Mayhew 1861-10-xx KY d 1945-11-04 d/o James Constantine Mayhew + Mary Malinda Shields. She is in Allen Co on the 1880 census with her parents on p174d. She is shown as Mayhew,
but also marked divorced.
The implication sure is that Oscar is Walter's father. He must be Oscar Franklin or something. He might
be a nephew or grandson of Hannah, but he doesn't really match any Rigsby in Allen Co on the 1870
or 1860 census.
I can't find Hannah on the 1870 or 1860 census under Hannah, Bethany, Rigsby, or Etheridge. I
imagine her 1860 entry would answer the question.
