from "History of Washington County, Pennsylvania with Biographical Sketches of Many of Its Pioneers and Prominent Men":
George Myers, who purchased the "Woodstock" tract of Christian Letherman in 1785, was a German,
and beside the Letherman purchase bought other lands. He had some seven hundred acres altogether,
part of which was in Nottingham township, north of Somerset, and lying along the North Branch of Pigeon
Creek. The family of George Myers numbered eight or ten children, none of whom are now living.
George Myers, son of Michael, took up land on a Virginia certificate, dated Feb. 21, 1780, which was
surveyed Sept. 10, 1786, called "The Morass." This land was adjoining his father's and Benjamin
Parkinson and George Miller.
The lands of the Myers were in both Somerset and Nottingham townships.

[Why is Margaret not mentioned?]

Note that he had a grandson George Mushrush who was not 21 by 1803.
The only Mushrush family on the 1800 census in Washington Co is Jacob Mushrush.
RootsWeb entries say Jacob's wife was Catherine Saltsman 1780 d/o Philip.
How can George Mushrush be grandson of George Myers?
On the 1790 census there is a Michael Mushtrush in Allegheny Co (portion taken from Washington Co).
He appears to be the Michael who married Barbara Stone, father of the above Jacob.
George lists only one daughter in his will, Catherine. Seemingly she must be the mother of George
Mushrush, unless there was another daughter who died young. (And that might be why this George is
specifically mentioning him.) Is the Catherine Saltsman given as Jacob's wife wrong?
