I don't have anything showing the death date for Cavanaugh. This date is assumed by some researchers based on the Court Case in Knox County, Tn., where Richard Newport was appointed her (Sarah's) guardian. John Hinds, father of Hannah and Susannah, had died and left money to some of his grandkids. Richard was appointed guardian of his sons Asa and Calvin (minors) and later (1813), guardian of Sarah. This would usually indicated that Cavanaugh was dead, out of the area, or incapacitated in some way. Susannah moved to Indiana with her daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Alfred Harris.
