I Abraham Zentz of Carroll County State
of Maryland being weak and feable of body but of sound
mind memory and understanding... do therefore
make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit:

Item It is my will and I do order and direct that as soon as conveniently it can
be done after my death that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

Item I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Zentz all my goods chattels
and personal property of every kind that I may own and be possesed of at the
time of my death. I give the same unto my said wife for and during her life time
or at her disposal as hereinafter mentioned. And I further give and bequeath
unto my said wife Elizabeth Zentz all my Real Estate that I may own and be
possesed of at the time of my death, being the same whereon I now dwell and con-
taining (by including the parcel that I have purchased of my son from the place of John
Stear decsed, the whole quantity of forty two acres of land more or less -- And I
also give unto her my said wife my wood lot containing five acres of land more or
less. I give and devise all my said Real State as aforesaid unto my said wife
Elizabeth Zentz for and during her nature life time together with all the personal
property as aforesaid. To Have and Hold the said land or Real estate and have and
take the rents issues and profits thereof to her my said wife Elizabeth for and du-
ring her nature life and it is also my will that my said son Jesse Zentz shall live
and remain with my said wife on my said Real Estate as aforesaid as long as she
live or as long as she occupies the same, and to be mentained from said land
by my said wife, but at the death of my said wife Elizabeth Zentz I do authorized
direct and empower my Executor hereinafter named to sell at public sale as soon
as conventiently it can be done all my goods chattels and personal property given to
my said wife by this my last will and testatment and further authorizes direct and
empower my Executor herein after named to sell at public or private sale after the
death of my said wife all my Real estate given unto my said wife by this my
last will and testament and convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof
by good and sufficient deed or deeds, and the money ariseing from my said estate I do
order and direct as follows to wit.

First the sum of eight hundred dollars
current money shall be placed upon interest by good security for the use and sup-
port of my son Jesse Zentz and the one that keeps my said son Jesse shall re-
ceive the interest thereof annually as long as he is aliving and after his death to
have the principal sum of eight hundred dollars as aforesaid but must be kept
good

and the residue of my estate as aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my
son Daniel my son David my son Abraham S Zentz and my daughter
Anna May wife of Ruben Stonesifer to be equally divided among them share and
share alike.

And I further order and direct that any time during the life time of my
said wife by her consent in writing to a sale of my said real estate as aforesaid
and as much of my personal property as she does not want in that event
I authorize and empower my said Executor hereinafter mentioned to sell the
same at public sale and convey the said Real estate to the purchaser thereof
and the money arising thereof I give as follows

the sum of eight hundred dollars
for the use and support of my said son Jesse in the same manner and conditions
as aforesaid and the ballance to be put upon interest on good security for the use
of my said wife she is to draw the interest thereof annually as long as she is a
living for her support in case that the interest is not sufficient for her mantain
ance then part of the principal shall be used if necessary and after her death
I give and bequeath the said sum of money placed upon interest as aforesaid
unto my four children namely my son Daniel my son David my son
Abraham S Zentz and my daughter Anna Mary wife of Ruben Stonesifer
to be equally divided among them share and share alike.

I do authorise direct and empower my Executor herein after named to collect by suit
or otherwise all outstanding money owing and becoming due to me and including ready
money that I may leave at my death -- first to pay any just debts and funeral expenses
and Ballance I give unto my said wife. And all the property that I have given
unto my son Jesse in my life time is to be his own.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Daniel Zentz to be
sole Executor of this my last will and testament giving and granting him full
power to convey and carry into execution all and every or any provision contained
in this my last will and testament. Revoking and annulling all former wills by
me heretofore made Ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last
will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this
tenth day of November eighteen hundred and sixty seven.
