Funeral records for Ulysses' son Ernest show his mother as Betsey Willoughby. Census records show
she was born 1866-07-xx.
There are only five female Willoughbys in Allen or Warren Co who could be her: Eliza, d/o Edwin
Willoughby + Lucy Johnson; Elizabeth, d/o John M Willoughby + Sarah Meredith; Elizabeth, d/o Hardy
Willoughby + Josie Weaver; Matilda E, d/o Hiram Willoughby + Martha Conner; and this Mary E.
All the other ones are accounted for, and this Mary vanishes. Thus, she must be the one who married
Ulysses.
