Notes:

genforum message 5235:

There was a John McDaniel Sr c1695 IRE or VA who died in N Farnham Parish, Richmond Co VA before 1749-04-20 (date estate inventoried). He married Anne (unknown). They had at least a son Henry and a son John II. Anne lived to be 102 years old.
--
John Sr may have been born in IRE and come to the colonies with his father and brothers Timothy, Daniel, and Randolph (and possibly 3 others).
--
This page has a John McDaniel c1695 King William Co VA + Anne Tennison. children: John, George, Henry, William, Jeremiah.
--
This page has John McDaniel c1695 IRE d 1749-04-20 Richmond Co VA + Anne Pasley/Jones/Tennison. John s/o John MacDonnell c1670 Ennis, Co Clare IRE + Joan Lloyd. Same children as above, but with dates: John II 1721-10-22 N Farnham Parrish, Richmond Co VA, George 1722-05-17 King William Co VA, Henry c1724, William c1725, Jeremiah c1726.
--
Various other RootsWeb entries have subsets of the above. Anne the wife is shown born c1700 d c1811 SC. John II is often shown born 1720. None of these entries has a marriage date, and none of them shows a daughter for John Sr.
John would have been about 25 when John II was born. I wonder if he actually had Mary (and other daughters?) first. Certainly Anne at 18 could be the mother of Mary.
--
Another researcher sends that John and Anne also had a son John in 1719, who apparently died young.
--
Another researcher says that the Timothy above (son of immigrant John) married Catherine (unknown) in 1716.
It is looking like my Mary is not daughter of John + Anne, so maybe she is the daughter of Timothy.
