State of North Carolina, Chatham County
I Sarah M Riggsbee being of sound mind and memory but
considering the uncertainty of earthly existance do make and declare
this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is
to say

first that my Executor hereinafter named shall provide
for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations
and pay all my funeral expences together with my just debts to
whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into his hands
as a part of parcel of my Estate.

I give my grand daughter Elbert A Carson fifty Dollars
I also give to my grand daughter Nancy E Dollar fifty.
I also give to grand daughter Mary J [?] Dollar Dollar fifty Dollars.
I also give my grand daughter Cora A Dollar One Hundred Dollars and one bed and furniture
the bed that her uncle had L H Riggsbee bed. Also I give her my
big red chest.
I also give to my grand son Elija Dollar fifty dollars.
My desire is that my two grand sons Israel C Dollar and
Edward shall have all of my land divided between them two provided
they will take [?] the land and pay the money to the other children.
I desire the Chapel Hill and Pittsboro road be the line between them
J L Dollar to have the west and Edward to have the East side.

All the money that my other property shall sell for is to be applied
to paying the expences and after paying all expences my ___ is any
money that is to help to pay the girls and Elijah, my desire is that my
Executor shall sell all of property that is not given in this writing
and all of J L Dollar and Edward does not take the land my
Executor is to advertise and sell my land and divide any Estate
between all my grand children equal

I nominate and appoint my worthy friend George C Cole
my Executor to Execute this my last will & Testament
April 23 day 1878
