Notes:

I have found two death dates for him.
His gravestone in Lystra Baptist church cemetery, Chatham Co NC, says he died 1908-02-12.
Ancestry.com's Birth, Marriage, Death index for North Carolina says he died 1927-08-09.
Both give his birth date as 1884. I don't know of another Edgar in NC who was born around 1884.

At least for now, I am going with the gravestone.
