Know all men that for and in consideration
of five dollars in hand paid by W A Davis the receipt
is hereby acknowledged as well as for the better securing the
payment of the promissory note hereinafter mentioned I
J A Rigsby do hereby grant bargain Mortgage sell convey
and deliver to the said W A Davis the following personal
and real estate to with And also the corn Cotton potatoes
cane and all other crops now growing or to be grown on
Lot of Land number in the District Decatur
County Said Land being this year cultivated by or for
me This paper to be a mortgage on said crop from the
date of the signing and sealing of this paper and the
being thereof to attack and to be binding on the same when
ditached and removed for on said Land as well as when
remaining thereon To have and to hold the said bar
gained property unto the said W A Davis heirs assigns
forever and the said J A Rigsby in consideration of Value
received in the note hereinafter mentioned does hereby
Waive renounce and relinquish for himself and all
persons claiming under or throughim all rights Claims
benefits or interest in or under the Homestead or Exemption
laws of this State So far as the property hereinafter men
tioned and described and the full payment of the said
note hereinafter mentioned is concerned Provided also
ans that if the said J A Rigsby shall pay or cause to be
paid to said W A Davis or bearer or order one certain
promissory note dated July 20th 1883 and due 15th of
September 1883 whereby the said J A Rigby hath promises
to pay to said W A Davis or bearer or Order 84 00 Eighty four
dollars and 5 100 with interest from maturity at 80 0 per and
per annum as well as all costs that may be incurred in
the collection of said note and also 10 per cent attorneys
feet all of which shall be collectable against the subscriber
then this mortgage to be void In witness whereof the
Subscriber has hereto set his hand and Seal this the 20th
day of July 1883

Know all men by these presents that
for and in consideration of one Dollar to me in hand
paid by W A Davis receipt whereof is hereby acknowl
edged as well as further to secure the payment of one
promissory note hereinafter mentioned I, J A Rigsby
do hereby bargain Mortgage sell and convey unto
the said W A Davis the following property viz One
Medium sized Gray Horse about 9 or 10 years old
Nameel Gray Formerly owned by W A Davis
To have and to Hold said bargained property unto the
Said W A Davis his Heirs and assigns forever And
the said J A Rigsby in consideration of the value
received in the notes hereinafter mentioned do hereby
Waive renounce and relinquish for himself and
all persons claiming under or through him all rights
and benefit and interest in and under the Homestead
and Exemption laws of this State so far as the property
hereinabove mentioned and the full payment of
the Note hereinafter mentioned are concerned
Provided always that if the said J A Rigsby Shall
pay or cause to be paid of the said W A Davis one
certain promissory note dated December 20th 1884
and due September 15th 1885 whereby the said J A
Rigsby hath promised to pay to the said W A Davis
or bearer the Sum of Eighty Dollars for value
received with interest from Maturity at the rate
of 8 per annum as well as all cost and expenses
that may be incurred in collecting said note
then and thence forth this mortgage to be Void
In witness whereof the said J A Rigsby hath
unto Set his hand and Seal Dec 20th 1884
