Deed 1685-06-10; James Kyle, cooper, alias planter, of Anne Arundel County, in consideration of
lands in said county conveyed to him, conveying to Richard Gwinn his interest in the 200-acre
tract "Paules Neck" at Deep Creek on the south side of Patapsco River, which tract was patented
1663-06-29 to Paul Kinsey, planter, who died intestate without a wife but leaving a son who died
an infant, whereby the tract descended to Elizabeth, now wife of Richard Johns, merchant of The
Clifts in Calvert County, and said Johns and wife deeded it 1682-03-23 to Richard Gwinn, planter,
and James Kyle, cooper, both of Anne Arundel County. Witnesses Edward [torn], William Holland.
Kyle acknowledges June 11 before Thomas Taylor, Thomas Francis, and William Burgess.
Deed 1687-12-01; Richard Johns, merchant of Calvert County, and his wife Elizabeth, sister and heir
of Paull Kinsey, deceased, for 4,000 pounds of tobacco, conveying to Richard Gwyn, planter, the
250-acre tract "Brandon", formerly in Anne Arundel County, on the northwest side of Deep Creek
at Brandon Bay, on the south side of the Patapsco River, as form7erly laid out for Kinsey.
Witnesses William Tynnis, John Gadsby. Grantor acknowledges and wife Elizabeth consents
before John Boring and George Ashman.

WILL OF RICHARD GWIN
the 13th day of September Anno Dom: 1692. I Richard
Gwin of Patapsco River in Balomore County being Sick & Weak in body, but of
Sound & Perfect memory do make this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following
first I will that all those debts &
duties(?) as I owe & Right or Con____ to any manner of Person or Persons
whatsoever whall be well & truly conducted & paid or ordayned to be paid within
Conveniant after my decease by my Executor hereafter named -
First I do give & bequeath to my Son Thomas Gwin & his heirs for Ever the plantation
whereon I dwell with all that land belonging with Same to be possessed with it at
twenty one years of age not before -
Item I do give & bequeath unto my Son Thomas Gwin A Point of land lying on the
north side of Deep Creeke containing Sixty Acres Being part of a piece of land I
bought of Richard Johns called Brandan to him & his heirs for ever.
Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Lorkitt & her heirs for ever all the remaining
part of the said land called Brandan She already liviing upon Part of it only ____ Sixty
acres above bequeathed to my Son Thomas Gwin.
Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Ellinor Gwin a piece of land lying up the middle
falls of Patapsco River called Newtown to her & her heirs forever.
Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter in law Ann Cornwell a piece of land lying at
the head of Deep Creeke called Gwins farm to her & her heirs forever & one years old heifer
to be delivered imediately after my decease for her use & her encrease forever.
Item I give & bequeath unto my Son in law John Lorkitt all my wearing apparill. The(?)
linnen & wollen & one Gun called Roger.
Item The remaining part of my Estate be it of money Plats(?) Goods Chattles or
C____ my will & desire is after my just Debts be truly contented(?) & payed that my
loving wife Hannah Gwin have one third part & sd other two thirds to be equally
divided amongst all my Children.
Item Lastly I do make & ordain my Son in law Jno. Lorkitt to be my whole Executor
of this my last will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand &
seal the day & year above written.
