Albemarle Co VA Will Book 2-3

The seventeenth day of November one
thousand seven hundred and sixty-one -- I Charles Harrison of
the Parish of St Annes & County of Albemarle being very sick & weak
in body but of perfect mind and memory do make & ordain this to be
my last will & Testament
First I give & bequeath unto my dearly
beloved wife Frances one certain Tract of land containing one
hundred and forty acres lying & being in Goochland County acording
to a deed made me by John Lewis, to her during her life and
after her demise to my son Richard, him and his Heirs forever.
Whereas my dearly beloved wife is now with child If she should
bring a Boy I also bequeath unto him one certain Tract of Land
lying on Buckingham Creek on Hardware [?] River in the County
of Albemarle containing two hundred acres but in case it should
be a Daughter then my desire is that my wife should have this
tract of Land in same manner as the first but after her decease
to return to my aforesaid son Richard.
I further do give unto
my dearly beloved wife the sum of fifty Pounds currency to be
raised out of all my debts & other demands which said sum
I do desire she may lay out in any manner she may think
proper in buying her any Negro she may think fit during her life. The other
part of my Estate I desire may be sold, and applyed so ever as she may like-
wise think proper,
and I do hereby appoint for the Executors of this my
last will & testament my Brother Andrew Harrison, Richard Eubanks,
& Frances Harrison to be whole and sole Executors of this my said
last will & testament to which I have hereunto sett my hand and
seal the day month and year above written.

At a court held for Albemarle County the H33th [?] day of August 1762
this last will and testament was presented in court proved by the oaths of
Isham Davis & George Miller two of the witnesses thereunto and ordered to be
recorded, and on the motion of Frances Harrison & Richard Eubanks
the Executors who made Oath according to law, certificate is granted them
for obtaining a probat thereof in due form giving security whereupon
they with William Harrison their security entered into and acknowledged
their bond accordingly.
