BIOGRAPHY: Farmer, lived in Canaan, IN

BIOGRAPHY: From his neice:
Charles Calvin Whitham was a tall, lean, erect man with a
mustache. One winter he shaved his mustache and he froze his upper lip. He
farmed and his wife, Ida Belle Buchanan, didn't care for living on the farm so
the moved into town (Hanover) but things didn't get any better and eventually
they were divorced. This was a disgrace at least as far as Betty's father, Evertt
Bradley Whitham, was concerned and he didn't talk much of his father.

Charles never married again.

She recalls Charles telling about going out West hunting and how the jack
rabbits were so big they chaced his dogs, etc. Some pretty wild stories.

From another descendant: Most all of grandpa and his children went by
their middle names.

He was a good hearted man who could cuss a lot; cussed the horses, cows; lived with
the Bovards a while: the children imitated the cussing; He had kind of
southern accent.
