Next to him are his sons James and William, and then a widow Balinda 1872-04 MO/MO/MO with children John W 1894-06 MO, Flora M 1896-02 MO, Cora E 1897-08 MO, and Jefferson N 1899-02 MO.
His son Joel is living in Morgan Co MO, and is marked as single.
William has had 9 children, 7 still living. On the 1880 census William had no sons, so Balinda can't be a widow of William's son.
All of James' children are alive and living with him.
Lewis' brothers were also in the county, so perhaps Balinda is daughter-in-law of one his nephews. It seems odd that she would be living right next to this family, though. Could Joel really be widowed or divorced, and Balinda the widow of his son?
