He served in the Civil War (Confederate), 1st TX infantry Co F.
He enlisted 1861-05-28 at Woodville TX for 12 months. (He actually served four years.)
In 1864 he was wounded in the left hand and had to have one finger amputated.
His discharge papers describe him as dark hair, dark complexion, hazel eyes, 5 foot 10 inches.
