Notes:

[R15.x]

married in Bertie Co NC

Ancestry.com's NC marriage collection gives their marriage date as 1863-09-22, citing court records of Windsor, Bertie Co NC on Family History Microfilm 0255260.
If that date is correct, she was a second marriage and not the mother of the children listed.
I would suspect a mis-transcription of an 1836 date, but William was single and living with his father in 1840.
A descendant sends that son Joseph's death certificate gives his mother as Elizabeth Parker. Could William have been married twice, first to Elizabeth Parker and then to Elizabeth Futtrell? Note that there were Parker families in Bertie Co on the 1840 census with daughters the right age. Two of the families are even near Josiah.

He was a farmer.
