so the Brown children aren't hers. William's age is consistent with this being a second marriage.
Sarah and Lily are, I think, Jaly's daughters born out of wedlock. Possibly Sarah is d/o of Jaly's
brother Green (see 1860 census notes for Jaly's father), but he separated from his wife before 1860
so can't be Lily's father.
