[Maysville KY]
County Clerk C O Lowrey of Smithland issued a marriage license to C W
Willoughby of Union county and Miss Belle Rigsby of Hampton. Mr
Willoughby informed Mr Lowrey that he (the groom) had walked from Union
county to Hampton, thence to Smithland to procure the license, and that
it was his intention to walk to Hampton, where the nuptial knot was to
be tied, after which he would put the bride aboard the hack for Union
county and take it afoot.
