Notes:

He may have had another wife. There is an 1881-05-08 Miller Co MO marriage record for William Carrender and Eliza Harrison. There wasn't another William Carrender in the area, so presumably both marriages are this one. I don't see an Eliza Harrison on the 1880 census, though.

One RootsWeb tree used to have this:

March 15, 1922 William George Carrender
William George Carrender departed this life at
the home of his son, Willard, in Eldon at 1:00

a protracted illness due to the after affects of an
attack of the influenza about three years ago.
He was born near Pleasant Mount, Miller Co.,
Mo., May 3rd, 1862, being 59 years, 8 months
and 4 days old at the time of his death. On
August 14th, 1881, he was united in marriage
to Miss Leona Harrison. To this union seven
children were born, all of whom are living. They

Charles J. and Willard A. of Eldon; Misses
Lela A. Annie J. and Essie who are at home.
Besides the widow and seven children he
leaves to mourn his loss, 10 grandchildren,
4 grandsons and 6 granddaughters, one

half sister, Mrs. George Hicks of near Eldon,

and many other relatives and a host of
friends. He has been a lifelong farmer and

where his family now lives, 32 years. About
a month ago he and his youngest son,
Willard, made a trade in which Willard
became owner of the home farm and his
father took his residence property in
Eldon, where the family moved about a
week before his death, to be near the doctor.
He united with the Milldale United Brethren
church in 1889, at the age of 33 years. He
was a kind and devoted husband and father
and his last words to his family were "I am
going home."
Funeral services were held at the home in
Eldon, by Rev. Fred E. Miles, pastor of the
Eldon M E Church. Mr. Carrender was a
member of the M. W. A. fraternal order at
Tuscumbia, and the body was laid to rest
by the Eldon lodge in the Salem Cemetery,
about one mile north of Eldon. The funeral
was attended by a large crowd of sorrowful
relatives and friends.
