He came to the US as early as 1645, maybe even as early as 1638. He married Katherine Dedman, daughter of Henry and Katherine; Henry's widow married Rev Charles Grymes.
Robert's son Francis married Elizabeth Catlett, sister of Sarah Catlett who married Francis' brother Robert.

The Ivey book includes a daughter Catherine (no birthdate). The Taliaferro & Sherman book includes daughters Sarah and Mary (no birthdates). (Or maybe it's the other way around.)

A 1682-09-28 deed by his son Francis says Robert is desceased and gives land to his brothers Charles and Richard. It says Robert patented with Lawrence Smith on 1666-03-26 for 6300 acres of land in Rappahannock Co, described as "beginning at the mouth of Snow Creek on the south side of Rappa River and thence runing the severall courses in the pattent" .
