She is supposed to have married a Laughlin, but I'm fairly certain he was Lemuel Loftis instead.
There are no Laughlins in Overton Co TN on the 1820 or 1830 census. There is a Samuel McLaughlin
in neighboring Jackson Co on the 1820, but no Laughlin.
A message on the Loftis Genforum says that Frances Catherine Loftis' death certificate gives her
parents as Lem Loftis + Betsy Hinds.
Simeon was the only Hinds in Overton or Jackson Co on the 1830 census. The only Hines is a William
in Jackson. I don't see him on the 1820 census, so I don't know if he had a daughter Elizabeth's age.
I'm pretty sure William is a Hines, not a Hinds, so it's unlikely he is Elizabeth's father.
Lemuel + Elizabeth named a son Simeon. This is a fairly uncommon name, but since this Elizabeth's
father was Simeon, it's unlikely to be a coincidence.
Two sisters of this Elizabeth moved to Jackson Co, and are within 3 pages of Lemuel on the 1840 census.
