the 2nd day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight
hundred and forty one by and between O. D. Wever of the county of
Tipton and state of Tennessee, Jno. W. Weaver of Red River County
Texas, Simeon W. Weaver of Phillips County Arkansas, James W. Hayley,
Eliza M. Hayley of the county of Madison state of Tennessee, Jonathan
W. Dabbs, Sarah C. B. Dabbs of Red River County Texas (by their agent
Jno. W. Weaver), Jonathan W. Weaver, Williamson Weaver, Cynthia H.
Lynk, Thomas Broughton, Lucy W. E. Broughton and Sarah Weaver of the
County of Haywood and State of Tennessee, the heirs of Benjamin Weaver
decd of the one part and James A. Rogers of the county of Haywood and
state of Tennessee of the other part; Witnesseth that the said O. D.
Weaver, Jno. W. Weaver, Simeon W. Weaver, James W. Hayley, Eliza M.
Hayley, Jonathan W. Dabbs, Sarah C. B. Dabbs, Jonathan W. Weaver,
Williamson Weaver, Cynthia H. Lynk, Thomas Broughton, Lucy W. E.
Broughton & Sarah Weaver for and in consideration of the sum of two
thousand and eighty Dollars to them in hand well and truly paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said
James A. Rogers, his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of
land situate lying & being in the County of Haywood, etc., etc."
