Theoretically the Linn/Lynn family goes back to "the famous Lynns of Loch Lynn Scotland". It seems there was a family castle, which somehow the family lost possession of. Afterwards, the family immigrated to Ireland.

This Linn family appears to come from County Antrim in Ireland.
