Notes:

from Addis genforum:
The Jane Addis Lynn/Linn helps solidify the proof that at the time of death, John Addis was married to Mary Walton. I have heard--but not researched it--that Mary Walton's grandparents came over on the same boat as William Penn. First level genealogy is usually "underdeveloped", not wrong. As more information becomes available, we can piece together a fuller story of as many as three wives--or two distinct Johns.

I have this very same John Addis, Sr. born on 2 Sep 1687 in County Staffordshire, England. This John the Elder with a first wife--possibly Mary Rudderow (needs confirmed)--probably had his first three children by possibly Mary Rudderow beginning in 1709 in England.

John then came to Pennsylvania about 1715/6 (should be able to confirm this) and may have married second Anne Twining sometime after 1716--she may have died early (should be able to confirm marriage and death also). He then moved to Northampton Township, Bucks Co. from Oxford Township, Philadelphia County about 1719 and bought two tracts of land in the township. William and Jane Linn, brother Richard and father John Addis were living in Bucks Co., according to the 1742 Tax List. John then died in the Spring of 1745 in Northampton Twp., Bucks Co., Pennsylvania.

We do not yet know how many children, if any, Anne Twining mothered. We also do not have proof yet that Mary Walton mothered any of the children. It will be a fun challenge to try to bring this story together.

We probably should keep our minds open to the possibility of two distinct Johns as well.
