parents Leonard and Mary Brooke according to this page , but it also has her married to two Thomas Tugwells (1629 and 1664)
--
However, from the Brooke genforum, I find that the Mary Brooke who married Leonard Tarrant was a daughter of Robert Brooke and Catherine Booth. From the Booth genforum, I find that Catherine was a daughter of Humphrey Booth and Margaret Underwood. Humphrey is shown as born about 1630. Clearly he cannot be the great-grandfather of the wife of Thomas Tuggle born 1629.

Also, from this page:

I find that Humphrey's father was Robert Booth born 1619, which means Humphrey surely was born no earlier than 1635.

Further, on the Tarrant genforum I have found references that this Leonard was born in 1679, and that he had a son Leonard Jr who died in 1791. This would be consistent with the information for Humphrey Booth.

I believe that Leonard Tarrant may have had a daughter Mary, but she is not the one who married Thomas Tuggle the immigrant.

Another researcher sends that Mary, daughter of Leonard Tarrant, married 1733-02-23 Robert Rose, and died 1739-02-28.
--
This page has this Mary married to John Burk. They had a child John born 1656. Note also that her daughter married a Bourke.
--
This page says that a 1668 Middlesex Co. tithable list shows a John Burke age 11, a son by a previous marriage, and three Tuggle children living with Thomas and Mary Tuggle, along with William Stewart, a newly arrived 14 year old--obliged to serve Tuggle for 10 years--who died shortly thereafter.
Thomas Tuggle, in his will dated 1681 (Middlesex Co. Wills, 1695-1798, Pt. 1, pp. 27-28),left John Burk the right to use a tract of land for tobacco and to live on the Tuggle plantation until John’s younger half-brother, Henry Tuggle, came of age, and "no Longer". He could live on the plantation in the Tuggle house "if they can live contentedly together". Otherwise, John was to build himself a 15 foot house on his tobacco land and live apart.

I now think she may be the granddaughter of Benjamin Tarrant, who is the son of William Tarrant I. She can't be Benjamin's daughter, because she was born after he died.
