He was born before 1765.
He probably died between 1820 and 1830, maybe in Surry Co NC.
His children may include: Tabitha 1785 who married in Surry Co NC 1806-07-29 Henry Groce, Mary Polly 1788 who married in Surry Co NC 1807-07-04 Stephen Muller/Mullis
If he was the father of Tabitha, that strongly suggests he was a brother of James whose mother was Tabitha. Also note that James was apprenticed as a shoemaker, and so was Jonathan.
He is supposed to be the father of Lewis of Surry Co NC, but it's pretty clear Lewis was really son of Drury.
Jonathan lived in the same area as Drury's two known sons. Was William a brother of Drury?
Is he the same as William of Duplin Co NC? Probably not.
Warning: I am not at all sure he was really the father of Jonathan. Jonathan is sometimes shown as son of Lewis, but that doesn't seem possible.
