Some genealogy sites say he was born about 1772. That is not consistent with the census, though.
He probably died between 1850 and 1860 in Surry Co NC.
I have read that he is a son of William who was in Surry Co NC, but I'm not positive about that yet.
He must have been born earlier than 1785, or else Russell is not his son.
I have read that he is the father of Jonathan Rigsby 1801. Again, though, he wouldn't be old enough. It could be that William is the father of all three. This needs more investigation.

Could he be related to Drury?
Note that Drury's son Thomas married in Orange Co NC and then moved to Wilkes Co NC.
Lewis seems to have married in Chatham Co NC (next to Orange Co) and moved to Wilkes Co NC.
Also note that Thomas had a son Lewis, and Lewis had a son Thomas.
There are instances where descendants of Lewis live near descendants of Drury.

This page says he was born about 1803 in Tazewell Co VA and married Lucinda in 1822. That does not agree with census records.
