I wrote to the state library in hopes of getting a copy of his will. Unfortunately, the Bedford Co TN
courthouse has suffered three fires over the years, and the earliest wills available are from 1861.

Apparently he married again after Anne Hughey died.

This is the only Joel in TN in 1830, but it doesn't match my Joel very well. I'm not sure when his children married, so possibly some of them aren't actually living with him. Maybe his second wife had children from a previous marriage.
