Appearing(?) to the Court that Mary Long widow and relic of Benjamin
Long dec'd refuses to take upon herself Admin. of Estate of said
deceased on the mot(ion) of Robert B. Long ____ of Admin. of the said
Estate is granted ______ he having made oath thereto and guaranteed
surety according to law.

Order to appraise said Estate was then ordered.

August Court 1804

This Cause coming on to be heard by consent of parties upon the ____?
answer and _____ and by ______ the affadavit(sic) of Gabriel Gray and
William Broadus read as evidence the court do decree and order that
the defandant(sic) Robert B. Long the administrator do sell the negroes
belonging to the estate of Benjamin Long dec'd to the highest bidder
upon 12 months credit and take bond with good security of the purchasers
and that he also sell the land called lease hold land to the highest
bidder upon 12 months credit taking bond with good security for the
purchase money and collect the money when due as well as the outstanding
debts due to the _____ estate and pay one 11th part of the same to each
of the ________ Bromfield Long, William Long, Thomas P Long, Wiatt
Mitchell in right of his wife, Robert Gains in right of his wife,
Richard Long in right of his wife and William Mothershead in right of
his wife and one 11th part to the children of James Long dec'd one
11th part to the children of John Long dec'd &c The like sum to the
children of Benjamin Long dec'd and retain one 11th part to himself
after disbursing debts due from the intestate expences of
administration sale and collection of the costs of this sale(?)
which he is to pay upon their giving bond and security to the said
administrator to refund their(?) being debts which _____ ______ _______
appear against the said Benjamin Long dec'd proportion of debts and
what ______ make up the account of his administration before John
Wharton, William Gray, Gabriel Gray, Robert Latham Jr and John Gray
or any three of them who are appointed commissioners to examine _____?
and settle the same and ______ appearing to the satifaction of the court
that the _______ portions of fee simple land left by the intestate
which will belong to the representatives of the dec'd _______ of the
intestate ________ __________ divided amongst such representatives will
not be of the value of $100 to each and the ______ parties _____ _______ ?
in court that a sale of their shares may take place this court do further
order and decree that the commissioners aforesaid or any three of them
do sell the said fee simple land to the highest bidder upon 12 months
credit taking _____ bond with good security for the purchase money
payable to themselves to be released unto ______ to be assigned as the
court shall direct and the court do further order and decree that the
aforesaid commissioners or any three of them do sell the slaves now in
possession of the defendent Mary Long delivered up by her for the
purpose upon 12 months credit taking bond with good security of the
purchasers payable to themselves to be rendered unto [goes to p. 230]
court and assigned as the court ____ direct and the plaintiffs
Bromfield Long, William Long and Thomas P Long, Wiatt Mitchell,
Robert Gaines, Richard Long and William Mothershead and the _____
Robert B Long counseling in court that ________ shall ______ against
each of them for forty seven pounds fifteen shilling to be paid to
the defendent Mary Long for her life It is decreed and ordered that
they ______ pay to her that sum upon her giving bond with security
to each to return that sum to them respectively at her death which is
to be in full of her compensation of dower in the estate of the said
Benjamin Long dec'd and of the slaves given up by her to be divided
and that the commissioners make report.
