I Leroy G Rigsbee of the county of Orange
and State of North Carolina being of sound
mind and memory but considering the uncer-
tainty of my earthly existence, do make and
declare this my last will and testament
in manner and form following that is to
say
First that my executors (hereinafter named) shall
provide for my body a decent burial suitable
to the wishes of my relations and friends
and pay all funeral expenses together with
my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever
owing out of the moneys that may first come
in to his hands as a part of parcel of my estate.
Item I give and devise to my beloved wife Nancy
W Rigsbee thirty seven acres of Land including
the homestead whereon I now live with all other
improvements thereon to have and to hold to her
the said Nancy W Rigsbee, together with all my
perishable and personal property of every description
whatever for and during the time of her natural
life. and after her death to be equally divided among
my three children William Lucius, Thomas
Hubert, and Mollie Thomas Rigsbee.
Item my will and desire is that the residue of
my real estate which is a tract of twenty
four acres of land adjoining the land of
Jesse Rigsbey and Narcissa Leigh, be sold
and deeded to Capt William Mangum by my
executors in consideration of a lot of land
with a good house upon it to be fitted up
by the said Mangum according to a verbal contract
between me and him and if said Mangum
fails to comply with said verbal contract for my
Executor to sell said twenty four acres and lay
out the proceeds in buying a lot and erecting
a good house for my wife suitable to her wishes
in or near the town of Durham and furthermore
that my wife have and hold the aforesaid house & lot
during her natural life and after her death to be equally
divided among my three aforesaid children.
Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty
friend William H Proctor my lawful executor
to all intents and purposes to execute this
my last will and testament, according to the
true intent and meaning of the same and
every part and clause thereof

do hereunto set my hand and seal, this the
20th day of April 1880.
