Warning: I am guessing he was the father of Vincent, but really he pretty much has to be.
Vincent married in Allen Co in 1849. Of the 7 Willoughby families in Allen and Warren Cos on the 1840
census, only two had a son Vincent's age: this William in Allen and Nehemiah in Warren.
Various RootsWeb entries for Nehemiah say he didn't have a son Vincent, and the son he had of the
proper age was James.
This William was the only other Allen Co Willoughby to move to Newton Co MO, where Vincent moved.
In Newton Co, Vincent was living next door to William's daughter Sarah and her husband William Motley.
Vincent's wife was Margaret Devine. The only Devine family in Allen Co on the 1840 census was on the
same page as this William.
Also note this William had a brother Vincent and an uncle Vincent.
