Here is a 1911 map of Chesterfield Twp, Macoupin Co IL, showing his large land holdings. Note that his brother Robert has land adjacent on the west.
Here is a 1911 map of showing the town of Chesterfield in section 2 of the above township. Note that it appears to be from later information than the other map. The earlier one does not show Peeble's addition to the town, and does not show James owning the remaining land in that quarter-section.
