I am not positive this William was a son of William + Lucy. He never appears with them on a census. However, William + Lucy seems to be the only Rigsby family who lived in Garrard Co KY.
Possibly William + Lucy had a son William who was born 1803. If so, he is probably not the one who married Margaret Kennedy. [Note that census entries for William + Lucy are also not consistent with a son born 1803.]
A biography of son James Thomas says that William's parents were natives of KY.
Note, though, that on the 1880 census William says his parents were born in VA.
Possibly daughter Molly does not belong with this family.
He was a farmer.
