Notes:

I'm pretty sure I have the right family here.
I know that Malinda married a Briggs, as indicated in the will of her uncle David Duncan.
I also know she was dead by 1852-01-13, when David wrote his will.
A search of the 1850 census shows several Melinda Briggses, but only one is born in TN. She is wife of Samuel Briggs age 40, and apparently was previously married to a Woods.
A search of RootsWeb finds only one Sam Briggs born about 1810 who married a Malinda or Melinda: Samuel Lockhart Briggs. His wife is shown as Melinda Baker born 1822 TN, and she is shown previously married to Alfred Wood. Samuel also marries again in 1854.
Since so many details match, I think this must be the correct Malinda Baker.
