From the Margie Boyd book:
second marriage in Calhoun Co GA 1869-05-02 Nancy Ann Garrett 1833-02-19
He appears on tax lists in Walton Co GA in 1826 and 1834.
On 1873-12-13 he applied for a pension based on his service in the War of 1812.

I think this is him, but it doesn't make sense:
Ancestry.com
Court, Probate, and Land Records
AL Mardisville [Talladega Co] 1844-08-01 Samuel Rigsby 40 acres
His brother Thomas also bought 40 acres there, and there doesn't seem to be another Samuel.
However, this Samuel seems to have always been in GA.
