In St Louis City cemetery, St Louis City MO are A Rigsby, F Rigsby, and W Rigsby, all dying in January 1860. This William was the only Rigsby there on the 1860 census, so presumably they are his children. Two of them must be the young males in his household on the 1855 state census.
--
He may have served in the Civil War (Union), 133 IL infantry Co A.
There was a William Rigsby in that company. This is the only William in that general area at the time,
but he would have been in his late 40s.

1880 census Greene Co IL p58c
William Rigsby 60 TN/TN/TN
wife Isabel 66 TN/NC/NC
He should be 66.
1870 census Greene Co IL p189
William Rigsby 50 TN
Ada 48 TN
He should be 56 or so, and who is Ada? His son Frank is on p190, though, so I think this must be him.
Also note that Greene Co is about 75 miles north of St Louis Co MO, where he was in 1860. Jersey Co,
where he was in 1855, is between them.
