DNA shows that this is not the John Hinds who married Esther and moved to AR.

We do know that he was still alive when his father made his will in 1817, though.

1806 tax list for Harbison area, Knox Co TN shows John Jr Hinds with no land but 1 poll. A Levi Hinds is also listed. Levi is not my Levi (son of John Henry), and is not Joseph II's son Levi. Levi Sr would have been 64, and thus exempt from tax. Thus the John is likely this one.
