Notes:

Occupation: Farmer. Fought in Revolutionary War. Elizabeth is second wife.

--
married Elizabeth in Philadelphia Co PA

He is buried in Fightner's graveyard, Westmoreland Co PA, several miles west of Greensburg.

--
according to a tree that no longer exists:
first marriage about 1752 to Anna Maria Reed (born 1733, died 1756-05-17); they had one child Jacob Welcker who married Rosanna Hartman. Michael married Elizabeth about 1760.

--
There doesn't seem to be a will for him.
His wife Elizabeth, Jac Welker, and Peter Horbeck were given a letter of administration for his estate in 1799 (see Westmoreland probate records Vol A p133). The accounts were filed in 1800 (ibid p118). His children Michael and Mary were also appointed guardians in 1800 (ibid p41). [What about the younger ones?]

--
from another tree that no longer exists:
Michael succesively owned two portions of his father's farm, having one part conveyed to him on 1767-02-03, a part consisting of 185 acres lying in Upper Hanover and Douglass Townships. The main portion bordered the Perkiomen Creek, and he was restrained by terms of the deed from engaging in milling interests in competition with his brother George. This portion was sold on 1791-12-21 to Peter Heist. This removed Michael's name from the tax lists of Upper Hanover, and it is probable that Michael had left the community several years before that. Michael was described as a frontiersman, hunter, and trader in the "Reed Family History," and it was only natural that he would settle in Westmoreland County, where many new areas were being opened by pioneering settlers. Michael served in the Revolution as a member of the Upper Hanover militia, first under Capt. Lower and later under Capt. Henry Maurer.

In the DAR database he is number A123003.
