I have not been able to find his first wife's name. There is a good chance she was a daughter of
James Kirby. The 1842 estate of James Kirby mentions heir James Riggsbee and wife. This James was
the only one in Chatham Co in 1840.

TN court records

I James Riggsbee have this day bargained and sold and do
hereby transfer and convey to S B Riggsbee, R J Riggsbee, and
A W Riggsbee and their heirs forever for the consideration of one
hundred dollars paid to him in hand for a tract of land in the
State of Tennessee Sumner County district No 18 containing by
estimation nine acres two roods and seven poles be the same more or
less and bound as follows to wit. Beginning at a Red Oak
in the South boundary line of said Riggsbees tract on which
they now live running thence with Micajah Griffin's line
South 47 deg West 47 poles to a Black gum, thence West with Griffins
line to a stake 33 poles to T J Armstrongs North East corner
31 pole to a stake thence East sixty five and one half poles to the
beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said S B Riggsbee
R J Riggsbee and A W Riggsbee that I am lawfully seized of
said land have a good right to convey it and that the same is
unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs
and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the
said land and every part thereof to the said S B Riggsbee
R J Riggsbee and A W Riggsbee and their heirs and assignees against
the lawful claims of all persons whatever this December 11th
1858.
