Note: I may have this John mixed up with his cousin John s/o Cuthbert.
Many RootsWeb entries say that the John Burton who married Caroline Greer was Cuthbert's son, and
that he then married Anna Cole.
William's son Drury married in Barren Co, and John married Caroline there. William moved from SC after
the 1810 census, and died before the 1820 census, so I don't know exactly where in KY he lived.
Cuthbert was in Warren Co on the 1810 census, and Allen Co on the 1820. (Note Allen Co formed 1815.)
John Burton married Anna Cole in Allen Co. On the 1820 census Cuthbert has 4 M 20-30. I think one of
them is John. There is a John Burton in Allen Co on the 1820 census, but he is not near Cuthbert, so I
am guessing he is William's son, not Cuthbert's. There is no John Burton in Warren or Barren Cos.
I think it more likely that William's son married Caroline, and Cuthbert's son married Anna.
