The Taliaferro & Sherman book (see notes for this Robert's grandfather) suggests that his wife's last name was Buckner.

Many sources have his death date as 1736-06-06, but this is wrong. Another researcher sends:
Portions of his estate are sold by the coroner in 1737, and this is sometimes interpreted that he must have been dead since the coroner was involved. But this was not the case. He owed money to the Sheriff of Caroline. Under Virginia Law at the time, the Coroner assumed the role of Sheriff in legal matters normally
handled by the Sheriff when the Sheriff was a party. Since Robert III owed the money to the Sheriff, the Coroner enforced the Court order to sell slaves to settle the debt.
