Born: 1784-00-00 Wake Co, North Carolina USA
Died: (unknown)
Marriages:
1. Lydia Stewart

Children of Daniel Rigsby and Lydia Stewart:
John Rigsby b. about 1815-00-00
Harris Lawson Rigsby b. about 1820-00-00

Notes:

[R05.1]

He was born between 1784 and 1790.

His children may have included: Lot
Did he have a daughter Martha c1826 who married 1846-12-02 William Grant 1824-03-xx TN s/o Moses Grant + Margaret (unknown)?

I think he also married in Sumner Co TN 1822-03-12 Sally Dill.

I am not positive that he was the father of John and Harris, but location and names makes me think so.
Some genealogies show Harris as a son of Canada, but the census entries do not support this.
Notice that Harris had children Daniel and Wright, and that those names were not common in Canada's family.

ALLEN CO TAX LIST 1821

RIGSBY, Daniel

[no land taxed, just persons]

That must be this Daniel, but he should be in Smith Co TN. Note that his wife appears as head of household in Smith Co on the 1830 census, and then Daniel is back for the 1840.
What was he doing up in KY? Just visiting his relatives? But why was he there long enough to be taxed?

1840 census Hickman Co TN p185
Daniel Rigsby 1 M 5-10, 1 M 50-60, 1 F 20-30, 1 F 30-40

[This is apparently him with a second wife.]

1830 census Smith Co TN p40
Lydia Rigsby 1 M <5, 2 M 5-10, 1 M 10-15, 1 M 15-20, 1 F <5, 2 F 10-15, 1 F 15-20, 1 F 40-50

This should be his family, but there are too many daughters. Where is Daniel? Lydia's father died in Pickens Co SC about 1830. Is Daniel there? If he married Salley Dill in 1822, he must have divorced Lydia.
The list of children almost matches Daniel's brother Wright, who also does not appear in 1830. The children for Daniel appear to be with his mother Susannah in Allen Co KY.

1820 census Smith Co TN p84
Daniel Rigsby 3 M <10, 1 M 10-16, 1 M 26-45, 1 F <10, 1 F 26-45
[x (?Harris <1), John 5, x, x, Daniel 36, x, Lydia]

1810 census Pendleton Co SC p142
